Dr. Jim Hysen worked as a veterinarian in Sarnia and Oshawa before establishing the Lockerby Animal Hospital in Sudbury, Ontario in 1987. Over the course of his 32 year veterinary career he helped thousands of animal friends, a role he felt very privileged to have. In addition, he contributed greatly to the veterinary profession through his volunteerism on the Board of the Sudbury District Veterinary Association, the Northern Ontario Veterinary Association, and the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association, where he proudly served as President in 2009.
He was a true inspiration to everyone he worked with. Above all his professional accomplishments, his greatest pride was his family.
Sadly, Dr. Hysen passed away in 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. He is deeply missed by all at Lockerby Animal Hospital.
